You might have wondered why billionaires are pouring millions of dollars to buy NFT digital art? To much surprise, Twitter founder Jack Dorsey put his signature as NFT digital art for sale.
The word NFT is buzzing around us for the past three weeks. You might have longed to know about it. Here’s the article that explains what NFT art is and how to make and put them for sale.
What does NFT mean
NFT is a short-form for Non-Fungible Token. In simple words, NFT is a unique token that cannot be replaced with something. They are the new digital assets like bitcoin and you can own them in the form of collectible artworks, playing cards digitally. NFTs are non-destructible and can be verified as they carry their own information that is built mainly on the Entherium blockchain network.
To make it easy to understand let’s take currency as an example. If you take a $100 bill, you can convert in ten $10 dollar bills or something equal to it. That makes the currency a fungible item. Or take Gold as an example. A kilogram of gold can be converted into 1000 one-gram units. But, NFT cannot be converted into something similar or cannot be replaced.
Even two NFTs cannot be exchanged as they are different from each other. No two NFTs are identical even if they are created or owned on the same platform.
What gives NFT value
NFTs too work like all the other assets we accumulate. If the demand for a certain product rises, its price will increase automatically owing to the demand and supply concept. Likewise, people started owning their assets digitally in the form of collectibles and gaming items. As the demand is surging day by day, so is the value.
