SINGAPORE / ACCESSWIRE / December 13, 2021 / Mintable, the next-generation NFT minting platform and marketplace, has announced an integration with Immutable X, the first Layer 2 scaling solution for NFTs on Ethereum, created by Immutable in partnership with StarkWare. Following the integration, all existing & future L2 projects will be accessible on Mintable's marketplace, allowing their 10 million monthly visitors to seamlessly trade over 24 million gas-free and 100% carbon neutral NFTs.
Immutable X will help overcome gas and scaling limitations for NFT traders on the Mintable marketplace, paving the way for mainstream adoption.
Gas and scaling limitations have been a significant barrier to entry for users who wish to trade NFTs on Ethereum. Mintable's partnership with Immutable was born of the imperative to reduce friction for new and existing users by enabling scaling without compromising on decentralization or moving off the Ethereum network.
Through Immutable X, its Layer 2 scaling solution, Immutable aims to promote mainstream NFT adoption by offering gas-free minting and trading, self custody alongside seamless UX for developers and consumers. Immutable X is also ensuring any NFT activity on the protocol is completely carbon neutral by purchasing carbon credits to offset gas consumed on Ethereum.
Mintable's integration with Immutable X is the latest in a series of upgrades to the platform, dedicated to maximizing accessibility and improving the NFT trading experience. The platform pioneered gasless minting, batch minting, royalties, and credit card purchases for NFTs, and recently aggregated all ERC-721 tokens on Ethereum, which are now accessible via the marketplace along with everything on Immutable X.
Jiawen Ngeow, Chief Operating Officer of Mintable, explained: "Accessibility has always been at the heart of what we do here at Mintable. This partnership brings us a step closer to our vision of making Mintable the most accessible and cost effective place for buying and selling NFTs in the world."
"This partnership is a tremendous addition to our growing Immutable X's ecosystem. We want to be everywhere NFT fans are and Mintable's dedication to break new ground in empowering audiences with smart contracts is mind-blowing. We are excited to welcome these communities and work with Mintable to scale NFTmarketplaces." said Robbie Ferguson, co-founder of Immutable.
About Mintable
Mintable is a next-generation non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace built on the blockchain. The interest rate on the most popular type of U.S. home loan surged last week by the most in two years and has climbed back roughly to where it was before the coronavirus pandemic struck, after signals that the Federal Reserve would be raising rates sooner and faster than previously expected. The Mortgage Bankers Association on Wednesday said its weekly measure of the average contract rate on a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage jumped to 3.52% in the week ended Jan. 7 from 3.33% a week earlier. Mortgage rates had been edging higher for the past several months, but the large jump in rates last week followed the release of the minutes of the Fed's December meeting.

While the housing market boomed in 2020, last year saw uncertainty grow about whether it could maintain its momentum and worries about the Federal Reserve raising interest rates caused the mortgage market to sag a little. Although Annaly Capital Management (NYSE: NLY) does not originate mortgages — rather only buying and selling those backed by the full faith and credit of the federal government and packaged from Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Ginnie Mae — its stock still weakened in 2021 because of the concerns, falling 7.5% for the year, according to data provided by S&P Global Market Intelligence.
